What is OPEN?
OPEN is pretty hard to describe in words...but we’ll try!
Since 2003 the 50,000 sq-ft building, previously the regional headquarters of Barclays Bank, underwent a £12m renovation to transform it into the state-of-the-art Youth Venue we have today.
OPEN has a vast range of facilities and activities to offer young people aged 12 to 25 within this historical landmark in the Norwich city centre. Just skimming the surface you will be sure to find something that appeals to you:
- Nightclub – The only dedicated under 18s nightclub in the East of England...
- Climbing Wall – The tallest in Norfolk at 12 metre high...
- Recording Studio – Music creation and editing with support and training
- Live Venue – A massive event space set in the prestigious banking hall
- Dance Studio – Structured classes and open access for any keen dancer
- Cafe – Chill out, grab a snack, meet your mates....a space for socialising...
- Health Suite – Confidential, youth focussed clinic facilities..come have a chat...
- Support and Guidance – A variety of agencies offering advice and guidance for young people’s development
- Media Lab – 24 Media PCs...offering everything you need from a computer...
- Gaming Area – Xbox 360s, PS3s, Pool, Air hockey and Fussball....is that enough?
We also offer a range of workshops and activities ranging from Arts through to Sports....
In truth, the OPEN venue is far too difficult to explain in words! The best thing we can recommend is that you come and see it for yourself...and maybe get involved in something new or different....
