AJ's Club Night
Accessible, Supported Clubbing...
AJ’s is going to be a brand new club night at OPEN for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. We have a youth steering group, and if you join it, then you can help make loads of decisions about what this new night is going to be like.
AJ’s is named after two young people played a crucial role in shaping OPEN, who were both
wheel chair users. Sadly they have passed away and we are launching this new night in memory to them, and what we learnt from them. AJ’s will be aimed at young people with learning difficulties and disabilities (up to 25), but it will also be an inclusive event, so friends, support workers and carers can attend as well.
This event aims to:
- Improve young people’s social life
- Cater for the needs and understandings of young people
- Empower young people – Young people leading the event.
- Build confidence eg: helping organise events, planning presentations, working as a team all helps contribute to build self esteem, confidence & development
- Be Inclusive
